The only sad part about the end of a war
Is the crime and violence will continue as beforeWe’ll defend ourselves from those who’d trespass
Against us or our freedom to kick someone’s assFor invading our sanctity or neglecting to pay
The required compensation with interest per dayWe’ll believe we’re superior to whomsoever we please
Because only our one God have we to appeaseAnd someone will get angry about that arrogant shit
And a new war will destroy us and that will be it

This my friend is the tale of the 20th century and the first years of the 21st. The question as to whether Higher Intelligence can maintain itself e.g. not kill itself, is still out there.
Carl Sagan actually used this idea to deduce that Aliens that could come here would be benign, at worst, because they would have been able to get over their ability to kill themselves technologically. He believed that this would have to engender themselves with some form of pacifistic ideology that was almost universally accepted.
great poem.
Be well

I always feel out of place here in the United States. Probably because I am poor.
@fallenguru - life is in the reckoning… maybe
@daavidd - in the US, poverty isn’t cool
In the usa, we have made it out to make it out like we are so powerful that we cannot be taken down, but truth is it is a possibility and we shouldn’t be taking for granted what we have, yet we do.
Will we be destroyed? I really don’t think completely, but we will have war after war and sadly that seems really depressing to think on.
Hey. Long time no see.
I wonder myself why EVERYONE thinks the superior over another.. Never fails to FAIL.
nice one, ben. dr. seuss with an edge!
Dear Ben,
I haven’t visited in a while. Time permitting, I’ll stick around a few moments this hot (for us, here in L.A. where the temp is breaking records) Tuseday morning.
The last line is deliciously and horribly prescient, I’m afraid.
