  • Insanity Envy

I think I need to lose my mind
go hunting snipe with play-time friends
get drunk on wine found left behind
and ponder means to selfish ends

    Ungrateful for a wasted life
and cheated of an unearned prize
my scorn was not conceived in strife
but practiced smirks in empty eyes

It was not God I lost that day
he’s never been that hard to find
as love comes so it goes away
I think I need to lose my mind

I’m feeling anti-social as hell, sorry. People are strange…

  • : )   hey ben!  i was just earlier today wonderin where in heck you were. and what you’ve been doin. i am always feeling antisocial and don’t think we need to apologize for it, hah!

    people are indeed strange.

  • One thing I like about it getting cold and snowing is coming inside to hot chocolate and warm blankets. One thing I hate about it getting cold and snowing is not having anyone around with whom I can sit and drink and talk with. Maybe that is because I’m not much of a talker myself.   By the way, I just spent the last 2 hours reading a bunch of Neil Gaiman short stories aloud to my dad. I’m really trying to be nice, I just hope that he considers my efforts next time we get into an argument. I’m sure he thinks the same thing toward me.. *sigh*  I’m with you on the anti-social thing today. Whole-heartedly.

  • Dear Ben,

Love you man. (in a male bonding non gay way)

I was just thinking about you, and behold, serendipity has declared that you have just posted a poem. And I’m not “too late’ cause it was just yesterday!

    The profile pic is excellent.

I had to read this twice. It’s almost one of those European structured poems like a pantoum or villanelle or something. (I just recently wrote a sestina) But you just repeat the first line at the end. I can’t give you enough praise for your poetry. So I won’t. I’ll stop right here.

Seriously, though, I miss the hell out of your visits. You’re one of my longtime Xanga friends. NOT a “Xangafriend” but a “Xanga” “Friend”. I think you appreciate the difference.

Dont’ be such a stranger. To mine or your own blog.
